Privacy Policy for ScreenLens Translator
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled in a safe and responsible manner.
1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
A. Screen Data (Media Projection API)
To provide translation services, the App uses the Media Projection API to capture content currently displayed on your screen.
- Usage: This capture only occurs when you explicitly initiate the translation feature (e.g., tapping the "Capture" button).
- Storage: Captured images are processed in real-time in volatile memory and are not saved permanently on your device or our servers.
B. Accessibility API Usage (Prominent Disclosure)
The App uses the Accessibility API (GlobalScrollService) to detect user scrolling.
- Purpose: We use this to detect when you are scrolling to ensure the screen is stable before capturing an image. This prevents blurry or failed translations during movement.
- Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or share any text, personal information, or user interactions through this service. It is used solely to optimize the timing of screen captures.
- Consent: Use of this service is optional but recommended for a better experience. You can enable or disable it in your device's Accessibility settings.
C. Text Data (OCR)
The App extracts text from captured screen images using Optical Character Recognition (OCR).
- Processing: Most processing is performed locally on your device using Google ML Kit.
Accessibility API Usage Disclosure
ScreenLens Translator uses the Accessibility API (GlobalScrollService) to detect when you are scrolling on your screen.
- Purpose: We use this information strictly to optimize the translation process. By detecting movement, the App can pause screen capture during scrolling, ensuring that the images processed for translation are stable and clear.
- No Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or share any personal data, text, or screen content through the Accessibility API. This service is used solely for the technical optimization of the screen capture feature and does not access your private information.
